It was a dark damp snow day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub on the Northern Transcon. The high-low was 39-27 with 2 plus inches of snow with drifts with strong winds. Nice series Larry. Cold times arrived there in your backyard. Time to take care with the heath. It's hot in Brazil, but we have rains every day. I am recovering from a terrible flu. So, that's why I haven't posting here in TO. Have a good week.

Thanks Pedro, sorry to hear you have been sick with flu. Lots of that going around here. I took a flu shot, hope that helps not to catch the bug. Winter seems to be here early with the snow. Get well soon!

No 19 seems to be at the extreme north end of the 5-Line on Eagle Rock Blvd as it existed after March 18, 1948.
From what I can determine the line was shortened back to Eagle Rock Bl from its original route on Colorado Bl
to Townsend St on that date. Looking carefully we can see what appears to be a track switch leading, most likely,
toward the the mid-1950's Pontiac which will put the 1450 back on its route to Hawthorne and Broadway in the
city of Hawthorne. The entire route was abandoned on May 2, 1955. Looks like Mr Squire was trying to capture
some final photos before it was too late. As always, open to suggestions.

One edit: Car 1450 now lives at Perris, CA as part of the collection of the Southern California Railway Museum.

Ritzville Action
Changing Weather - Clear, Clouds, Snog, and Snow but train traffic stayed on a roll.
A very late passenger train made yesterday's scene in the "Big R" (big for lots of trains).
Real variety of freight traffic was on the move; intermodal added nice colors.
Unit Of The Day is BNSF #8464.

Historic Traction
19 - That 1956 Pontiac Hardtop beside #1450 sure looks sharp.
21 - Hope the brakes on #1152 were working well as it descended that hill.
23 - SVBL #201 is a GM Model TDH-4509 built in April 1952.
SVBL #207 is a GM (somewhat rare) Model TDH-4515 built in March 1955.
These coaches were built for suburban service with all forward facing seats,
tall window arrangement, and single entry. AC was added in the mid 1960's.

Thanks for another super action and traction posting; always appreciate your work.

Charlie,
I beg to differ with you on your descripion of LATL 1450 in Picture 17.
The Car is actually eastbound on 8th Street on the S-Line at Westmoreland Avenue.
Notice the tower of the former Broadway-Wilshire Department Store now the Southwest School of Law peeking above the buildings.

8th St it is---I can't argue with the architecture. Have to agree, that one-of-a-kind tower sure looks like the Bullocks Wilshire store.
Thanks for the correction, Jim.
