Back on Trainorders: Snowy Belle Fourche RCP&E.
Author: tolland

Hello all, good morning. I returned to Trainorders once again to see the tributes to my friend Bob Krieger.

Anyway, today is a wintry day in the Black Hills and the snow is coming down. My friend Robert Bach of Deadwood is the hogger on the daily run to Rapid City from the mines at Colony. Here are some photos.

Best to all,
Jim Burrill

It figures that the unit with air conditioning is second out. Just when you needed it.

Very interesting stretch of rails up there.I read two books about the DME yrs. If I am up to it, perhaps in a few yrs when retirement kicks in, would like to go up there to see what is up.                                             Sam from Wichita

Know that area well as the turn is crossing  in the first photo the main drag in BF.  Took some pictures of CNW 1776 in Bicentennial paint in front of  that depot in the first shot.  Thanks for posting.
