Street running in Tyler
Author: WrongWayMurphy

I know this is a stretch but the entire train is in the street so it's legit, right?

This is the Freon Flyer, a twice weekly 10 mile run from the ex Cotton Belt
yard in Tyler, Tx of a can of refrigerant to the Trane A/C plant in the far south
side of town.  Track is ex-MOP (I&GN) built in the 1880's

That made me chuckle this morning!  So what is the proper length to track in a street to be considered street running?  Let the debate begin!

That is a good question, and I have never heard a definition. I don't think it is based on length, but rather, are the tracks and street sharing the right of way, or are the tracks crossing over the street? I define street running as tracks and vehicles sharing the same space and the right of way, not just crossing over each other.

We're thinking more like the Susquehanna down the middle of the street for a half mile in Utica.

In the street more than a street crossing and flowing with the flow of traffic.  There!

I have never seen a train on that line.  Good catch!
If UP951 says "you know that's right,"  I will have to agree!
