Tehachapi in July 2022
Author: kg6nlw

During a small break in 2022, I managed after a few years to get back down to Tehachapi Pass. The trains DID NOT disappoint.

Image 1) Just above tunnel 2 looking back towards Caliente, the dry hills and the railroad curves make up the 2.63% grade across the landscape.
Image 2) As blue hour quickly approaches, trucks and cars zip by fast on SR-58 above me, meanwhile, the Z-LCLT crawls up towards CP SP356 to wait on one Eastbound (Compass South).
Image 3) As blue hour encroaches on the area, the Z-LCLT streaks past after getting a signal at CP SP356 to head West (Compass North).

Last image was the next day on my way back home, I caught the H-BARBAK creeping out of Caliente headed for Bena.
