What I'm reading is Northern California gets cold and then gets some rain / snow but only a quick shot. Talk is snow but not a big dump and only for a day or so. Storms are from the north, don't know about Southern California or the PNW, Should hit FRC and Donner around Sunday or so. Not a big panic for this one but not time to put away the winter gear either.

Reading the NWS forecast they don't have a good look on what happens after a few days.

The Northwest has a cold snap (cold for us anyway) starting tomorrow with Seattle-area lows to be in about the mid-20s and highs in the mid-30s. Possibly some snow but not much.  Cold and snowy in the Cascades and eastern Washington too, but it doesn't look like a huge deal so far.  The National Weather Service thinks it will last through about mid-week.

Out in the sticks, Klamath Falls OR looks like a shot of snow and cold close to zero at times starting late Saturday and Sunday.

Possible 80mph winds for Amtrak's Builder to deal with in the Cut Bank MT to East Glacier MT area today. (Thursday)  Then snow starting on Friday and lasting into Sunday.  A foot of new snow in the low land areas is predicted.  Than Saturday night into Tuesday, Montana plays host to another Artic blast.  Temps will hit -20F at the height of the cold before moderation on Tuesday.  There has been no discussion yet as to wind chill temps.

No AR with this this storm, so no continuous heavy rain like last time.   But Baro up to 30.50 here on central coast, so big ass cold high in place ahead of the storm.  Only question up till now has been whether or not the storm movement will slow down over SoCal, and give a bit more precip.  O/W its splash and dash, with the snow level down to around 4000-3500'  in central and southern CA.  TEP and Cajon may get a little snow.

Caught everything but O/W. Not sure what that means.

Why not just write "otherwise"?

Because that is what she does, i.e Beth of Public Delivery Track, a pretty large O Gauge model train supplier, and air line pilot ( or is it 'former/retired' air line pilot? ).

Looking around the weather web it looks like Eastern Montana is getting seriously cold air from Canada, the air may flow down into Eastern Oregon and then Nevada. Definite reason the 2020 land rush didn't make it to that side of the Rockies.

The O&W was commonly referred to as the "Old & Weary".  Sad history.

OK, how about "other" and "wise"?

"Continuous" sounds like a "full word" to me...

Yep, now it's just a few days of cold in FarNorCal. The OMG weather media is talking about dangerous cold temps in the midwest.

Keep thinking of my gas stop in Great Falls a few years ago, it looked cold that day but wasn't, sun was shining and houses were selling. Now they're talking some serious days of serious cold... and wind.
