Finally - my early morning video of the May 2012 six day steam excursion departing LA Union Station for Williams, AZ lead by classic steamer ATSF 3751.

Video shows the entire consist leaving LA Union Station.

It was a six day excursion which ran east to Cadiz, CA on BNSF and then southeast on the Arizona and California Railroad, crossing the Colorado River at Parker.

It continued on to Matthie, AZ meeting the BNSF Peavine interchange where it headed up to Williams, AZ. 

Kudos to the San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society for their remarkable preservation of this magnificent engine!

To be precise, BNSF3751 does not exist. It is ATSF 3751!

That was a fun trip but the days were long.  Trip organizers were very ambitious about the miles covered each day which led to late arrivals at our overnight stops.

Yup! Forgot about the BNSF having a real 3751.  And, again that is why the ATSF 3751 is called ATSF 3751!

John, I believe I heard that on the Arizona and California track they had to run at freight speed. Some red tape prevented it running faster at passenger speed.
