According to UP website as of yesterday there was still a train buried in drifts in that area, and they were single tracking.

Still being towed westward. Any photos of it  actually plowing snow?

In photo #1, is that some sort of "snow coach" crew train on the far left with a GE and caboose?

Two cabooses used as 'snow bus' at far left.  Here's a better look at UP 25872 and 25809 in Rawlins, WY, on 14 March 2023.

Ed posted that they are there as backup to the contractors already at working keeping the one main open and getting the second main cleared.  May or may not see action.  Not assured to be used right now.

My first thought was "why cut off the roof overhang on the ends.  No porch to get the guys out of the weather?"  But looking closer it looks like they are ex-Mo Pac with the open ends boxed in.  Seems like a bunch of work.  Surprised that they didn't just upgrade a full body caboose.
