I got outta the house on a routine tip and chased this grain empty. I tried to shoot a few unusual locations, and had some spotty luck with the sunshine. But it’s good to keep the ol’ railfan chasing instincts tuned up...

1. UP 8887 leads a unit grain empty at the 15th St crossing in Manhattan, KS. A location I very seldom use...

2. The 8887 + entourage is now passing by the old passenger depot in Abilene, KS. A pretty depressing scene for yours truly! As a kid in the 1960s I can remember watching long yellow passenger trains roll into town, and pause right here. Now the scene is populated with weeds and some iron fencing.

Thanks for the tip!

I like that shot of Abilene, but you're right about the changes over the years.
