Dog Catch
Author: route56

This week, BNSF has run several eastbounds up the Topeka Sub, including a few going by my residence after I came home from work.

This train was stopped for about 10-15 minutes for a crew change... also known as a "dog catch"

1. BNSF 3705 is stopped at the Lawrence Santa Fe Station at 1754

2: at 1807, the eastbound grain train made its way to Kansas City.

3: The unsanctioned artwork on grain hopper BNSF 474854 brings a second "dog catch"

I saw one train EB at Topeka late yesterday afternoon. Later on down on the main line I saw that there was work being done on the DT bridges over both the Cottonwood & Neosho rivers, between Neosho Rapids & Emporia. I gotta wonder if that's the reason for the reroutes during "working hours"...
