Western Railroad Discussion > UP 1983 WP Heritage in RosevilleDate: 05/24/23 09:44 UP 1983 WP Heritage in Roseville Author: spzach Caught this yesterday at the depot with my phone. Came in from the East shortly after a MOW string of trucks, tie handlers, tampers, regulators or what ever they're called. It went right back East. Lots to repair, I imagine, after the hard winter.

I know from being up there quite a bit this past winter that the defect detectors became useless. They were reporting "integrity defects" on detectors from Truckee to Emigrant Gap or beyond, iirc. (I was hearing them on the scanner on different detectors.) I don't know if this just was from snow obscuring sensors, or if they were actually damaged.
