Western Railroad Discussion > Little train at PomonaDate: 06/01/23 21:10 Little train at Pomona Author: santafe199 With no particular agenda I got out of the house this afternoon and decided to go with whatever whim took me at the moment. I ran US 24 east to Topeka, then ended up heading south and a bit east to visit the BNSF main line at Pomona. Traffic was sparse to say the least. But I did bag one WB train in good light. I watched as a headlight from over 4 miles away got steadily bigger. Good enough for another thread in my “little train” series...
1. Looking through 300mm of tele-boomer glass BNSF 5158 is nearing the end of about 3 miles, maybe more, of tangent track, approaching my spot at the Arkansas Terrace crossing SW of Pomona, KS. The last leg of this track now swerves slightly because of a recent double track bridge replacement just west of the crossing. Photo date: June 1, 2023. Thanks for looking!
