Western Railroad Discussion > CPKC Sabula-Chicago trains per dayDate: 09/17/23 12:43 CPKC Sabula-Chicago trains per day Author: GN1969 Does anyone know how many trains per day CPKC are now running on their Sabula-Chicago line?
Date: 09/17/23 14:35 Re: CPKC Sabula-Chicago trains per day Author: robj I'd say 2 each way regular.
180 SB(west) at night and 181 NB(east) late afternoon or evening. They the Mexico trains. Then 253 West and 252 East are regular freight. They can be daytime or evening, sorry don't follow that closely but know they can vary. There can be a stray extra. Clinton or Davenport sees a lot more traffic and there is local working out of Savanna. Hope someone fills in better. Three years out, it is expected to see 8 more daily trains of which the MMX pair is two. So currently there should be 5 daily trains in this segment. Between Davis Jct and Sabula drawbridge there should be about 8+ daily trains currently: 6+ pre-merger trains plus MMX trains. Anyone know where the additional trains come from on the Sabula Drawbridge-Davis Jct segment v. Davis Jct-Bensenville?
