Western Railroad Discussion > Big Watermelon in MuscatineDate: 09/18/23 22:32 Big Watermelon in Muscatine Author: Agent A large sculpture of a slice of watermelon, "largest in the world," will be traveling by flatcar from Silver Hawk Fabrication to Riverside Park all within the city of Muscatine, Iowa via Canadian Pacific Kansas City trackage. Announcement says it will arrive at the Millennium Plaza around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Definitely something new to see (or even model).

Reminds me of a post card I bought in the early 1950s when I was a kid. It had two huge cabbages on a flat car. Actually photo-cropped onto a Lionel O Gauge flat car portaying the giant fruits and vegetables grown on the Eastern Shore (Maryland).
