Western Railroad Discussion > Warbonnet & H1 D9s lead empty crude oil train past Grand Forks,NDDate: 09/27/23 20:52 Warbonnet & H1 D9s lead empty crude oil train past Grand Forks,ND Author: jmulhol2 A 109-car (5 buffer cars; 104 tank cars) westbound empty unit petroleum crude oil train (with #1267 hazmat placards) in a 2x1 power configuration is seen here exiting the BNSF Hillsboro Subdivision, taking the west leg of the "wye", passing the Grand Forks, ND Amtrak station, passing the Devils Lake (D.L. Switch), and entering the BNSF Devils Lake Subdivision during the cloudy, cool, and blustery mid-to-late afternoon hours of 09/25/2023. This train is running what is called "Route B" around these parts. In other words, instead of taking the more direct routing between Dilworth, MN and Minot, ND via the BNSF KO Subdivision, this train is taking the less direct routing between Dilworth, MN and Minot, ND through Grand Forks, ND via the BNSF Hillsboro Subdivision to the BNSF Devils Lake Subdivision. This train is more-than-likely destined to be loaded out in western ND amid the Bakken Oilfield.
Power: BNSF #712 (GE C44-9W; built: 06/1997; "warbonnet") BNSF #1031 (GE C44-9W; built: 10/1996; H1 paint scheme) x BNSF #7121 (GE ES44C4; built: ??/2013) You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos.
