Was checking the price of heavy melting steel is $ 215.34 a ton. Copper tubing $ 2.70 a ton. Since the engine can't run anymore guess its economically prudent to melt it down. Buddy of mine who works for P&W says now that she’s going to Oklahoma and will be left completely intact. I figure if they were going to scrap her…why not just do it right down the street at the cost of a couple bucks…instead of hauling her clear across country for more than they would get to scrap her. |
