Some Of This and That On The BNSF

It was a partly cloudy to cloudy day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. The high-low was 69-42 with a possible drip this afternoon. Traffic is at 20 trains since midnight with more on the way. Quite busy for a Monday. Here are some trains from 9/17-9/18/2023.

9/17/2023

1. WB 844am coal train with BNSF 6388-5963-7826 on the point with DPU.
2. DPU BNSF 5724 on same train.
3. WB 912am grain train with BNSF 5667-8351-9323 on the pull with no DPU.

4. EB 1141am "Z" train with BNSF 3887-3936-6214 on the point with no DPU.
5. Some TOFC on the roll on same train.
6. A single UPS trailer rolling same train. It must be lost, lol.

7. WB 305pm coal train with BNSF 7101, Grinstein 9604 on the pull with GE DPU.
8. WB 544pm coal train with BNSF 5798-5993-5084 on the point with GE DPU.

9/18/2023

9. WB 947am 2x3x3 Super grain train with BNSF 8216-6827 on the pull with DPU's.

10. Middle DPU's BNSF 4121-6242-4282 on same train.
11. End DPU's BNSF 7853-7328-7146 on same Mega train.
12. WB 1217pm manifest train with BNSF 8258-H1 1004-7978 on the point with no DPU.

13. WB 308pm oil train with BNSF 8288 and Warbonnet 787 on the pull with GE DPU's.
14. EB 349pm stack/"V" train with BNSF 8149-4065 on the point with GE DPU. 
15. Stacks on the roll on same train.

16. DPU BNSF 4416 on same stack/"V" train.
17. EB 844am manifest train with BNSF 5219-9263-3991 on the pull with no DPU.

Louisville Section running late on this Moody Monday:
Nice railfanning weather; I would wear a light jacket.
Very nice lead-off with the coal train.  Still remember IC coal trains arriving in Louisville when I was a boy.
Always like the variety provided by intermodal traffic.  UPS trailer was a nice catch.
That mega grain train will make a lot of Wheaties * The Breakfast of Champions
Unit Of The Day is BNSF #9604

Nice series Larry. The weather looks good for railfaning. We had some rains here and the hot weather is gone for a week or so.
