How is this different then what is happening now? Activist investor buys a stake and then want's an immediate return on their "investment".
Sounds like just another day on the Wall Street Merry-Go-Round to me.

Well, of course, we are seeing the unvarnished destructive nature of the stockholder system.

No, how could you say that? Look at the OR's, the rails are making money hand over foot,
they've got to be a great investment!! (I'm hurting myself laughing again"

Exactly! We've officially gotten to the point where a Wall Street directed board/management team dedicated to the PSR bible, is trying to be booted by another Wall Street directed board/management team dedicated to the PSR bible. Whatever!

The biggest difference will be the color of the cotton candy clouds that the thoroughbred unicorns will be frolicking on

I streched the charts farther and in 2021-2022, NSC tended to peak in the $280 range, with valleys in $240-$250. The stock dipped predictably after the East Palestine derailment (February 2023).

Current CEO Alan Shaw's "reign" has not been good for the stock price, as the "peaks" have been in the $250 range since he took over in 2022. He's on record to be anti-PSR so the unresearced comment about "just another Merry-Go-Round" is not quite accurate. But what you point about the last 6 months is telling.

If Ancora Holdings and other "PSR advovcates" bought the stock in 2021-2022, I'm laughing at their misery for not getting their "returns." Sucks for them!

Time to start gutting the assets.
