I had a meeting in Palm Desert, which is 135 mile drive from home. I figured I would take the edge off the drive by brining my camera and doing some railfanning in Whitewater, but I wound up being late on my way there and couldn't do anything about the three trains I saw. On the way back, I saw nothing from Palm Desert through Whitewater... but did come across the UP MFWWC-20 heading west at the Cabazon border. The began a short chase through Cabazon and Banning (with two eastbounds blowing by me silently and without any chance for any shots). But the Forth Worth had a freshly painted C44ACM on the lead and was heading into the sun, so it was my real target anyway.

Killed it Charles! I saw the 9798 yesterday in Ontario backlit and in high clouds, needless to say nothing like your results.
