BNSF wreck in Exeter, NE

Pulled these off the 1011 NOW radio stations page. This is causing detours including Amtrak #6 to go up through York and Seward, NE between Hastings and Lincoln.

It would be instructive to know the cause.

According to a comment on the Passenger list it was a truck vs. train situation.

Train hit a semi-truck at a crossing. Minor injuries to one of the head end crew, truck driver dod not require any medical treatment.

Must have been something really heavy on that truck to cause a derailment like that.

Here's a link: https://www.1011now.com/2024/03/01/bnsf-train-derails-after-crash-near-exeter/.  The semi-trailer was an empty fertilizer hopper and one train crew member was hospitalized with minor injuries.
