Western Railroad Discussion > Finally, the MRL 4402 meets my cameraDate: 03/19/24 21:30 Finally, the MRL 4402 meets my camera Author: BrianA Over the years I have managed to get photos of all of MRL's SD70ACe's in the 4300 and 4400 series with the exception of one, the 4402. That one has always seemed to elude me. When I heard it and the 4403 were on the BNSF's ex-MRL Gas Local two weeks ago I took a chance and waited until a stretch of sunny weather was in the forcast. That stretch started last Friday so I planned two days to try my luck and see if I could finally photograph the 4402.
All I can say is now I have photos of all of MRL's SD70ACe's, and probably more of the 4402 than any of the others! Who knows how much longer these two will be on the Gas Local but patience pays off. 1. MRL 4402/4403 at MP 14 between Eddy and Weeksville, MT 3-16-24 2. MRL 4402 East at Paradise, MT headed for the 10th Sub 3. MRL Gas Local at Perma, MT 3-16-24. Brian Ambrose Yakima, WA. Looks like I got lucky with that stretch of good weather as it appears it's going to be overcast the next ten days along with perhaps a bit of snow a few of those days. While it isn't the good old days of the MRL with semaphores and GP9's on the Paradise Turn I am not going to complain one bit about my most recent visit to Montana. I had fun and that's what counts.
