Western Railroad Discussion > An EMD kind of day on the CP in Muscatine IA

There were several good consists in Muscatine on March 23rd.  CP may come in dead last on customer service but they do keep things interesting for the railfans.

1.  First up was northbound mty oil 577 with an all EMD consist at Luke Yard south of Muscatine right at daybreak.

2.  Hard to shoot the southbound K76 in the morning light but here's a going away shot of their GP30 Eco and GP40.

3.  577 is on the move northward after meeting 260 and K76 at Heinz siding east of Muscatine.

4.  577 again at mp215 east of town.

5.  Another EMD pushing on 577.

6.  Following 577 was northbound road freight 261, at the detector crossing south of Letts.

7.  Not a bad looking SD40, 2nd unit on 261.

8 & 9.  261 met 260 at Letts with an SD60 (dead) 2nd unit.

10.  Yet another EMD as 261's DPU.

11 & 12.  Final runby with 261 on the Muscatine riverfont.

Always enjoy your posts as an old MILW fan.

Gives me the opportunity to thank you for regularly posting the signal aspects on the four-light single-head signals at Heinz, this type of signal was also installed through my birth town on the MILW St Paul main west of Duplainville, WI when the double track current of traffic was converted to single track CTC. And I never seemed to get a good look at the aspects under meet conditions when I'd return to visit family there.
