Sometimes you don't need a Train
Author: Vicksburg_Route

I went out to shoot on the Meridian Speedway late this afternoon, and I hoped to shoot a train in the gorgeous light during golden hour.

As dead as the Speedway is these days, you would think I would have known better, so I got this shot as a consoliation prize.

I guess that sometimes you don't need a train.

Nice shot. Signal is green while no train nearby?

Thanks. Sometimes it happens. I'm not sure why, but it started after PTC implementation. The signals may light up many blocks ahead of an approaching train and stay lit for a while. Some actually stay illuminated constantly.

Not unusual at all. That green signal most likely would be for a train from behind the photographer.

Looks like a nice little dip in the track before the signal.  Hope the track speed here isn't too fast until they can level that off.
