I'd also spotted it on May 8, 2017 Also noted on 04/15/2024 was CWW Y611 Jonathan Fischer West Seattle, WA Date: 04/19/24 20:13 Re: OSL 70 @ Boardman, Oregon; 04/15/2024 Author: E25 Hi Jonathan,
Who owns this "Oregon Shortline" ? As you know, the original "OSL" was a UP subsidiary serving as a "shortcut" between Granger, WY and McCammon, ID and on to Huntington, OR. Trackage rights from Huntington to Portland were via the OR&N. Thanks for your post. Greg Stadter Phoenix, AZ Date: 04/19/24 20:41 Re: OSL 70 @ Boardman, Oregon; 04/15/2024 Author: JDLX Man, the years have not been kind to that paint job.
The 70 is owned by a private individual, last I knew he was employed by Columbia Rail, he leases it to his employer who has the contract to switch the Boardman industrial park. The locomotive had been the switcher at the Lehigh Portland cement plant in Metaline Falls before going to the Almanor Railroad in California for its final years before going to Oregon. Thanks for posting the photos, Jonathan! Ed Date: 04/20/24 07:43 Re: OSL 70 @ Boardman, Oregon; 04/15/2024 Author: JDLX CWW = Columbia-Walla Walla Railway, started up in 2017 on the line from Walla Walla to Dayton in eastern Washington, in 2019 they took over the Wallula-Walla Walla-Weston (Oregon) line lease from UP and BNSF after Watco’s Palouse River & Coulee City pulled out. CWW was part of Frontier Rail, which has now morphed into Columbia Rail.
