Recently Around La Crosse WI - KLIX 317
Author: rrartist

Tuesday morning my son had the pleasure of running 100 loaded sand buckets (U EOCDND) up to the Twin Cites with the BNSF 8331, shown here just south of La Crosse WI. This morning the G NOYELP, BNSF 7971 departed La Crosse  just before sunrise with the MRL 4317 second out.

BNSF train H BRCNTW had this little gem tucked in behind the road power, KLIX 317 painted in Northern Pacific livery, it sure looked nice in the sunny morning light.

Nice shots, Jim!  Can you tell me the origin/dest. of the EOCDND?

So, is KLIX the new incarnation of BUGX?

No, KLIX 317 is the reporting marks to be used for the GP9 to go from NY to Reardan, Washington the Inland NW museum.  It is not going to the Utah area.

Jim, you scored a home run again-!  Thanks for the Northern Pacific GP-9 moving as KLIX 317.  She looks good.  Glad she's found a home at Reardan, Washington, at the Inland NW Museum.

I'm guessing EOC is Eola Yard in Aurora, IL, BNSF interchanges sand trains there with the Illinois Railway and DND is Dore, ND. I'm pretty sure there's an oil terminal there,

Correct on Dore-right by the ND/MT state line. Facinating area with the Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site nearby.
