CPKC 2816 Final Spike Steam Tour
Author: dadonatrain

I just watched CPKC 2816 leave Franklin Park, IL, on the next leg of its Final Spike Steam Tour. I sure wish I had had the tech smarts to post some pics, but alas, all I could do was watch it on a rail fan cam. I feel like a little kid! What a train. Maybe someone else will post some shots.

It went east to A2 (junction with the line to Milwaukee) where they turned the train and headed back west through Franklin Park to the yard at Bensenville.

CPKC has an interactive map on its website that is supposed to show the location of the steam train.  I haven't seen the marker for the train on that map.  The only markers are for the events stops.

Here's a shot taken by a friend at Deerfield, IL.
