Alaska Railroad 4328 Coastal Classic 100 Year Anniversary Scheme
Author: wondergeekak

Here is a shot of the Alaska Railroad SD70MAC leading the Coastal Classic on 6/18/2024 at milepost 98 and at the Indian Creek bridge. It is currently sporting the 100 years of the Alaska Railroad paint scheme. 3013 (GP40-2) is trailing behind 4328.

The SD70MACs sure have nice lines for horizontally-oriented paint schemes.  Very classy and classic-looking train!

4328 has always been a good runner. I heard that "paint scheme" is a vinyl wrap. True?

Indeed 4328 was a good one in my day. It was a HEP Mac and had DP, being the last order of 4300's (4325 - 4328). The 4325 and 4326 came first and some time later the 4327 and 4328. I stayed late and caught the arrival of the 4327 and 4328 on January 2, 2008. Attached photo after it arrived on the fuel pad for the first time.

4328 was also the star of "SHUT IT DOWN !!" - https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?18,5600566,5600566#msg-5600566

They did a nice heritage job with it, and the photos posted are excellent. I never thought to shoot the Indian bridge like that.

Great shots! I was on that train south the 16th and back north to Anchorage the 18th. Looks like the shots are of the southbound?
