Chased Motive Rail between Heyworth, IL and Clinton, IL on 6/20/24. Conductor said the CN was hot for the cars an would be picking them up overnight. Great chase with first generation power and great sound. Had my drone but was only able to get one video. 
Not sure on the heritage of the engines or when they operate. I was just in the right place.

Engines look like Paducah rebuilds from IC geeps.  

That is a cool catch.  One of the last pieces of the original IC mainline that is still active north of Centralia.

I tend to keep up on this stuff but this operation is new to me.  Can you provide any additional info on their operations and the railroad in general?  I love seeking out shortlines and the matching paint on the motive power always gets my attention.

Motive Rail Inc owned by Jerry Respondek. Line is about 10 miles long running from the N side of Clinton, IL ( CN interchange ) to Heyworth, IL. Only customer is Tate & Lyle grain elevator at Heyworth IL unless the elevator at Wapella IL is loading. I think they run when CN brings them cars / empty unit train, no set days / schedule
