After many unsuccessful attempts at getting a train in Wind River Canyon, I settled on a fool proof strategy:  I got a campsite in the state park on the east river bank, right across from the tracks for three nights. 

Fortunately it was a great site, good neighbors, and a great place to hang out. Traffic was slow, but I did get a few trains. Here we have a morning northbound with a big long cut of plate steel right behind the power. 

Persistence pays.

Persistence is the name of the game in the Wind River Canyon and it sure paid off for you!  That's one spectacular pic!

No, this view is farther north. Here's the campsite view. Several beers have been cropped from the photo.

Last years camp was wonderfully temperate. This year not so much.

They carry stick rail.  We move RR cars like that regularly.
