Western Railroad Discussion > Train derailment within Las Vegas on Cima Sub Mile Posts 328-326Date: 10/30/24 23:43 Train derailment within Las Vegas on Cima Sub Mile Posts 328-326 Author: vegasrails Approximately 7:00 pm a western bound COFC hit an abandoned work truck between Union Pacific mile posts MP 328-326, train speeds along that segment average 50-55 mph, the vehicle was pushed along the track for 300-500 feet. No injuries but some debris from the truck and an abandoned homeless encampment along with bridge fencing fell to the roadway on Sunset Road hitting some vehicles. Unknown which car or cars of the train derailed but crews from West Colton ? are scheduled to arrive early morning to address the derailment ( all cars are upright.
