Western Railroad Discussion > BN 'Cascade Green' In WashingtonDate: 11/25/24 09:13 BN 'Cascade Green' In Washington Author: zchcsse While in the PNW this past July/August, I did stumble upon a pair of BNSF locomotives still in BN Cascade Green paint.
First-up is a SD60M still in Cascade Green leading a yard job out of BNSF's Vancouver, WA yard. A re-painted SD60M trails. This train is making a round trip to Lake Yard in Portland and back and is viewed from the Amtrak station in Vancouver, WA. The train is seen pulling to a stop to wait for the bridge over the Columbia River to open back up for train traffic, and is then seen departing over the river. Second-up is what I heard referred to on the radio as the "Camas Turn" hustling empty centerbeam cars east through Washougal, WA on the BNSF Fallbridge Sub. This train had a Cascade Green GP38-2 trailing in the consist. The train went all the way to Bingen, WA where it tied down for the night. You must have a good tripod as this is very steady and sharp.

Though it does seem like my tripod is starting to wear out and is on its last legs (pun intended). Date: 11/28/24 08:56 Re: BN 'Cascade Green' In Washington Author: mapboy That Camas Turn was on duty in March, 2023 at Vancouver at 05:15. I saw it at Camas at 08:39, then it returned to VAW at 13:50. The next day it left VAW at 07:33, Bingen at 10:32. Must have been really late that day at Washougal.
