Western Railroad Discussion > Not everything goes as plannedDate: 11/29/24 12:24 Not everything goes as planned Author: Denverrails1 I was driving back from Golden passing Coors and noticed that the BNSF was making up the "Beer Train" so I thought I'd stop and take a picture or two. It became obvious that there was some problem as the switch move had stopped and being a retired railroader I wondered what was the problem. In a short while a supervisor showed up in a truck and the second picture shows him talking with the engineer. Not sure what the problem was but I didn't have time to hang out to see how it might be resolved.
I can tell you from past experience that no problem occurs on a beautiful June morning but rather a day like this with snow and cold to make it much more fun Date: 11/29/24 16:37 Re: Not everything goes as planned Author: coach It looks like they're shipping via BNSF reefer cars.

So my question is, are those cars capable of also keeping shipping items warm to prevent freezing?
