Western Railroad Discussion > CPKC Train with Soo Line Geep in January RainDate: 01/31/25 22:30 CPKC Train with Soo Line Geep in January Rain Author: Agent Not the best weather to catch a train in, but I suppose it was better than if it was freezing. I saw this morning the northbound mixed freight train CPKC 261 had a Soo Line Geep in its consist as it passed the web cam in Ottumwa, Iowa. I decided I had enough time to go catch this train since it was very slowly climbing Rutledge Hill as it was "raining cats and dogs" as I heard over the radio. Turns out I had plenty of time as while the train didn't stall as there was some concern about, it did stop to set out its second engine at Rutledge siding. I took this video at the first grade crossing north(east) of the siding as the train was getting back on the move. I shot it out the window as I had forgotten to bring an umbrella.
261's engines: KCSM 4676 ES44AC SOO 4448 GP38-2 CP 8621 AC4400CW You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! Date: 02/01/25 09:58 Re: CPKC Train with Soo Line Geep in January Rain Author: mojaveflyer Sounded like the GP38-2 was DIC. Nice video....
