Western Railroad Discussion > East Perrin, AZ - another perspectiveDate: 04/11/25 08:31 East Perrin, AZ - another perspective Author: Super_C On a picture perfect September 15, 2012, this visit is from atop a hill just south of the East Perrin crossovers.. The drive in is not for the faint-of-heart. In fact, a short hike is required to reach the big, flat rock at the top of the ridge. What an ideal spot just to watch the world go by. There were 3 trains that went by, all eastbounds and I selected the second train for the three shots here.
BNSF 7888 East, Q LACKCK1 14A , passes the East Perrin crossovers and is about to pass beneath a large diameter set of natural gas pipes that form a "gas line overpass". While there isn't another human within a few miles, I guess this vulture just had to check out two guys on a big rock who just don't belong there. One pass and done ....... ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 04/11/25 08:34 Re: East Perrin, AZ - another perspective Author: Super_C Date: 04/11/25 09:10 Re: East Perrin, AZ - another perspective Author: Chico56 Very cool John! Just amazes me because you can't really see much from there!! And you can see oh so much from farther away. I just don't understnd. With such amazing scenes like these, who wants to see so little, and maybe get hit in the process. For all the requests the UP crews put out to "please stand back" (and let others see the train) that everybody has to crowd the tracks. While I am sad the Big Boy hasn't made the trip to the PNW, I am also glad I don't have to put up with all the people. Enuf said. Just my nickles worth.
