Western Railroad Discussion > A place called Cherokee in western ArizonaDate: 04/13/25 07:21 A place called Cherokee in western Arizona Author: Super_C Cherokee is a set of crossovers a couple of miles east of Truxton. Since the flyover was completed, I'm not sure if this set is still there. Back in 2013, it was a busy location. These pictures were taken on April 26 - 27, 2013.
1. BNSF 7002 West, S-LPCSCO2-24K, approaching the curve leading to Cherokee 2. BNSF 7002 West is stretched out in the valley leading west to Truxton which is located about where the cloud shadow is located. 3. BNSF 7355 East , Z-NBYWSP7-26A hustles east with Peach Springs the next town. ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 04/13/25 07:45 Re: A place called Cherokee in western Arizona Author: SCAX3401 Yes, the Cherokee crossovers are still there. The located is named Cherokee because, well, it had to be named something. While named for the Native American tribe, there was no reason behind it except that its was chosen by someone. I guess they liked the name.

I don't think it's necessary… As this track is good for 90 if you're on main one downhill Date: 04/14/25 07:05 Re: A place called Cherokee in western Arizona Author: DJ-12 Great stuff!
