Recent outings with MILW86A
Author: MILW86A

Just a few pics from some recent outings.
Saturday April 19 I went over to Savanna,IL and took my brother for a ride. While at Savanna I heard the Iowa Desk on the CPKC taling to CP 6306 which perked my old ears.
So it happend to be a rock train going south to dump 1500 tons of rock at Green Island.
First photo at Bellevue Iowa the second just south of town.

Next 3 are all at Green Island. In the first photo where the pile of rock is, thats where the line to Marion, Perry and Council Bluffs turned and went west. Second photo is where the old depot stood, third is at the south end

This past Sunday May 4 my friend Dana Grefe and I rode over to Chelsea, Iowa for the Firemans Breakfast. On the way back a few UPRR Trains
1. Coal Load at Chelsea
2. ZLTG2 at Tama. Im standing where the Tama Depot used to be and where the signals are at in the back is where Tama Tower stood where the Milwaukee Crossed.
3. Coal Load coming down hill between LeGrand and Montour, Iowa

Good catches with some nice variety with the foreign power, EMDs, decent looking UPs and the special unit.  I like that knuckle next to the crossing at State Center!

Thanks for posting, K-Man.  Those shots between LeGrande and Montour at MP 142 used to be a lot more open, that's for sure.
