Western Railroad Discussion > Fraser River FreqsDate: 06/25/01 18:15 Fraser River Freqs Author: mp208 Can anyone help me with the CN-CP radio frequencies in the Hope-Fraser River area; does either railroad require the calling of signals, or do they have talking detectors.
Date: 06/25/01 18:43 RE: Fraser River Freqs Author: run8 161.415 for CN
161.475 for CP The above are for the normal train operating frequencies. There are a number of additional frequencies for communication with the dispatcher. Both railroads require calling of approach to home signals on single track, but with directional running, they may consider it double track and relieve the crews of the requirement. They both have talking detectors. Date: 06/25/01 18:55 RE: Fraser River Freqs Author: cp1400 Crews still call signals for approach and arrival at stations. CP seems to run a few westbounds on their own track each week, depending on trackwork or congestion on the CN side.
Frequencies in use on CP are: Cascade sub MP 0-52---161.115 --------------MP 51-10--161.475 Thompson Sub MP 0-95---161.535 --------------MP 95-121-161.475 CN uses 161.415 throughout. Dispatcher to train link uses 161.205 on the Yale sub and 160.665 on the Ashcroft sub. Date: 06/25/01 18:57 RE: Fraser River Freqs Author: cp1400 Cascade sub Mile 52-106 is 161.475.
