Thats a funny photo.

Reminds me of when my wife & I got married (1980) we had
a VW camper bus with pop-top and were going to drive from
our home in Texas to a relative in New York City. The van
was running rough but we continued on and it took us 4 days
to make it to NYC. Once I had some down time in NY I decided to
address the situation and found a spark plug wire loose.
We had driven from Dallas to NYC on 3 cylinders!

Some hippie out surveying the area for his next 'crop'?

Say, how did those Cajon wildfires start anyway????

Reminds me of 'the encounter' with the VW microbus near the big bridge on UP/WP's Altamont Pass line. You can say I was surveiled by the hippie more intensely than any local cop could have accomplished.

At least this guy is on the service road. I came around the same curve in the early '90's on the 198 train and clobbered a guy that tried to turn around up where the two mains get close and got stuck, after wipeing out his car, an eastbound had to attach a chain and pull him off the front of my engine so we could proceed. No injuries and the only damage was to the car. Back then, it was standard practice to come around the curve as fast as "practicable". Not like today, when MOST trains are down to 10 or 15 mph already.
