UP boxcar in the woods of VA
Author: garyj

Our local shortline, Winchester and Western had an unusual consist today. They normally take empty 34' Centerflow hoppers to their sand mine for loading, but had only a single car on their trip today. It was a UP bocxar #465261

Could someone please trace this for me, and see where it shows as being? Right now, it's in the woods, at the tip of Virginia.

Gary

This makes me wonder what they are loading on this car. It could be bags of the white sand that they get from this mine maybe?

I spoke too soon.

I didn't see the line that said: "Commodity: 2041110:Flour Consignee: Agent "

That makes no sense whatsoever. There is no place that produces, or uses that much flour on the W&W.

Yeah and they overfilled it so it's coming out the top.

I called W&W today, and they told me that they are loading the car with bags of sand. This is a first for me, I've only seen them ship sand in hoppers.
