Western Railroad Discussion > UP Track Geometry Car EC-4 on Oakland SubDate: 06/11/04 14:08 UP Track Geometry Car EC-4 on Oakland Sub Author: NI030 The UP track geometry car "EC-4" is currently leaving Oakland heading south on the Oakland Sub (old WP line) headed back towards Niles Canyon and Altamont Pass. He came west over Altamont this morning. The dispatcher thought he was only going to go as far as Niles Jct and was surprised when the crew said that they wanted to go all the way north to Oakland. It passed Fremont northbound at 12:45 and I just got a call from Espeeboy who said it had just left Oakland heading back south at 2:15pm.

Anything brick (non-retrofitted) is just about doomed anyways for the next earthquake. Seems that no one in Oakland likes those yeast factories anymore either.
