Locomotive histories
Author: FT

Fans have all sorts of hot buttons that started them shooting train pix. Many on TO are action
oriented, while there are lots of roster and data fans as well. I like it all, but find special
reward in the sometimes convoluted paths locos take in their lives. Recently shot LLPX 2281
on the Albany turn of UP, and brother Ken provided the history. PC 7957-CR 7957-EMD 757-UP 1919-
UP 419 then LLPX. Ken says he shot it as PC in Collinwood,OH in '76. I was there but as it was
just another black PC I didn't shoot it, though I did get a shot from another fan.I find the travels
of locos of more interest these days with the monoculture of thousands of widenose units dominate
the major remaining roads.

To put a spin on an old saw; "old locomotives don't die, they just get yellow".
