Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF GP9B....with a cab!Date: 09/08/01 07:20 BNSF GP9B....with a cab! Author: bnsffan I have known about this loco for quite some time...just never had a chance to photograph it. Yesterday I caught it switching some cars at the Havelock Car Shops (Lincoln, NE) where it is assigned. Yes, it is a GP9B....remote control equiped.....with one little addition, a small "cab".

Author: CSX_Hoghead I remember it well. The RR's way of doing away with more jobs.

Martin, Sweden Date: 09/08/01 10:49 RE: BNSF GP9B....with a cab! Author: UPHSman Yes, just a weather shelter. The controls are on a radio unit carried by the operator. Being radio-controlled, the operator can get down and throw his own switches, no extra people needed. Still fun to watch as a railfan.
