BNSF GP9B....with a cab!
Author: bnsffan

I have known about this loco for quite some time...just never had a chance to photograph it. Yesterday I caught it switching some cars at the Havelock Car Shops (Lincoln, NE) where it is assigned. Yes, it is a GP9B....remote control equiped.....with one little addition, a small "cab".

I remember it well. The RR's way of doing away with more jobs.

So what you are saying is that the cab is merely a weather shelter? Hehe, looks cool enough!

Yes, just a weather shelter. The controls are on a radio unit carried by the operator. Being radio-controlled, the operator can get down and throw his own switches, no extra people needed. Still fun to watch as a railfan.

Almost looks like they took the side off of a bay window caboose and welded it onto the loco. A "Confort Cab" it's not.

Almost qualifies as a "critter".
