Author: UP4306 I am headed to Heavner,OK and the Rich Mountain area of Arkansas and I was wondering if Powder River basin coal makes it this far south on the KCS? I would appreciate any info on railroad action on this segment of the KCS.

Heavener is a great railroad town and don't forget to check out the overlook from the Runes state park on the east side of town. --jag Date: 04/30/05 17:47 Re: How far south goes PRB coal on KCS? Author: mapboy 2001 data for BNSF from "US Railroad Traffic Atlas" shows coal to Mossville,LA and Welsh and Martin Lake, TX, total about 1 loaded AND 1 empty train per day. UP 2003 data from "The Mixed Train" shows 190 trains to Welsh, TX, or 1 loaded OR 1 empty train per day.
