Western Railroad Discussion > Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomotiveDate: 05/09/05 12:48 Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomotive Author: Charles Taken at Fullerton on Sunday May 8th. It is BNSF 7695, a E44DC. You would have thought that GE could built a locomotive that doesn't smoke so much. <grin>
Charles Date: 05/09/05 12:49 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: 6088 Wow.. when did the BNSF start having steam generators installed on their new power?
That is a GREAT photo BTW! Date: 05/09/05 12:53 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: myoungwisc I was eating at Spadra and managed to just miss them heading West. Fullerton was sure filled with smoke for a while, it was a good indicator of what thngs were like in the days of steam.
Martin Date: 05/09/05 12:54 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: DaveE What's wrong? The hogger hasn't closed the cylinder cocks on the GEVO yet. ;-)
Date: 05/09/05 12:55 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: Charles I tell "the rest of the story" later if so one does. EngrBob and MikeL doesn't count since they were standing next to me when I took the picture.
Charles Date: 05/09/05 12:59 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: GNR1938 Too bad this thing was not chugging up a hill with a load in tow in cold weather.....would have made a great picture that much better. Thanks for sharing a unique photo for those in the know.........;)

Date: 05/09/05 21:02 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: Charles OK, before it goes off the first page. 3751 was behind the GE but you couldn't tell it from the angle I was at. At least until 3751 burped a little steam.
Charles Date: 05/09/05 23:01 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: px320 Just make things correct. The ANSWER is always 42
Date: 05/10/05 07:34 Re: Fullerton May8 - What is wrong with this new locomo Author: engrbob I also thought it was an ACE 3000 in BNSF paint and I was there when the picture was taken. I have a shot just like it. I guess I inhaled too much steam that day.
