Chippewa Valley coaches on UP
Author: rrnut_99

A friend reported to me that the six car fleet of Chippewa Valley passenger cars passed through Sterling,IL (on the Geneva Sub)a few days ago. They were led by a UP SD70M.

Anyone know where this train went, and why?

I believe they were taking the longer route home from Colorado, via the Geneva Sub and Proviso. Not sure what the reasoning was. Since the email list I heard that from is no longer, I cannot go back and check.

I saw them last Saturday at La Salle Co.
There has been much talk of this train but few photos.

Last shot of the notched nose 70M with the first car was showing, the rest of the
train was behind a building.

This train was being used for Operation Lifesaver specials around the system, at least in the midwest.

Not a problem, just wish the light would have been a little better.
