DRGW 5507, the last of the SD50s (and a right smart looking unit) is in captive service on the Roseville-Napa (CA) train. It was first seen in the neighborhood last week, and is in a consist with a BNSF H1 SD40-2 and EMD leaser (with GM logo) SD40-2.

It came through here trailing at 12:40AM or so and is now picking up the Cal Northern setout in East Davis.

5507 should lead all day tomorrow, departing Roseville around 3AM, through Davis around 4:30, getting turned over to the Cal Northern in Suisun around 5 AM, then heading over Cresson Hill to Napa. Running around the balloon track in Napa and leading again east with a midnight arrival in Davis.

To top things off, a DRGW SD50 in yellow paint was the 2nd of 2 units on an EB stack train around 10PM, working hard, pulling 73 platforms.

We learned this weekend from a Cal Northern friend that 5507 is assigned to the area for the next three months(!). Plus the EMD lease unit is ex-MILW No. 21.
