Yes, but which one? As well as what subdivision?

Hint: Look at the train.

Well, it appears to be the northbound Coast Starlight #14 (with P42 112 being a regular on the Coast pool). Single track somewhere in the LA Basin, I'm guessing Northridge on the Metrolink Ventura Sub?

Wrong station, right host railroad, right passenger railroad.

Hint: The benches were crappy and had splinters.

No cheating! :p

Another hint: Note the sun angle on this train which was headed out of the L.A. Basin

Well, my other guess was going to be Chatsworth, but I thought the siding there went by the platform. LA to Van Nuys would be double track at every platform, and it doesn't look like Simi Valley, Moorpark, or Camarillo to me. Perhaps I'm thinking too far south and this is further up the coast?

ANSWER: The old Baxter Ward platform at DeSoto Avenue in Chatsworth. CP DeSoto is behind me, this train is 14.

This train is so late (even getting OUT of Union Station), the sun could be ANYWHERE when it heads out of the LA Basin.
