After 52 years, the ITM has been evicted by the city of Noblesville. What will happen now? Posted from Android Date: 12/20/17 22:16 Re: Indiana Transportation Museum evicted Author: CPRR trainmasternate Wrote:

Hoping nothing goes to scrap as a result of this...

The city owns the park, ITM is merely a tenant. For good or bad, the city has chosen to end that relationship, which as the property owner, is their right. Edited 1 time(s). Date: 12/23/17 11:02 Re: Indiana Transportation Museum evicted Author: junctiontower The ITM rightfully shares some of the blame for this fiasco, but the mayor of Noblesville is a lying manipulating scoundrel. (God I want to use harsher words there). The City of Noblesville made up their mind to throw out out the museum, the rail line, and convert the whole thing over to a trail, and ultimately it wouldn't have mattered one bit what the ITM did or didn't do. The ITM just made an easy target of themselves.

Is there anywhere else in Indiana which would like to host a transportation museum for the state? Date: 12/23/17 20:53 Re: Indiana Transportation Museum evicted Author: wabash2800 Reportedly, Logansport has made overtures for the museum to move there. If the worst comes to pass perhaps some of the equipment could be leased out to various parties on liberal terms in the hopes of getting it back some day.

It was a disappointment as the membership had clearly not been keeping the facility in good shape. That is a shame but even if the rolling stock were moved to another location a lot of work would be needed to make it attractive to the general public. Shame. Getting anything moved off-site is going to be an expensive proposition.
