Steam & Excursion > GN 1246 moving to SnoqualmieDate: 04/25/23 15:41 GN 1246 moving to Snoqualmie Author: A-1 The Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, WA just announced they've acquired Great Northern 1246. Apparently the move is already in progress. It's good to see it heading back to the Puget Sound area. The article also mentions that UP 529 was traded to the Oregon Coast Scenic in the deal, but no details given about that.

Will the museum "take better care" of her than some of its other holdings? Without doubt, as witness their fine restoration job on the 924. A most gratifying step ahead for the Northwest Railway Museum--hats off to Richard Anderson and all who worked with him to make this happen!

NWRM has located and are in the process of retrieving the historically correct tender as we speak...stay tuned. Cheers, Dave Date: 04/27/23 23:57 Re: GN 1246 moving to Snoqualmie Author: GN599 This is good news. Living in Klamath Falls most of my life I am familiar with the 1246. Also glad to see things are moving along with the late Fred Kepner collection. He may not have been able to fulfill his dream and that's sad. However were it not for him being a custodian of these locomotives we wouldn't have them at all.
