The echo's from the whistle were unbelievable that morning. Anyone wanting a good idea of the event should purchase the video (I believe) "Challenger 1982" which is still available from Pentrex. I was so tired from chasing all the way from Cheyenne the day before that I wasn't thinking when I decided to sleep in the car just outside the back of the 'house. It had been warm and I'd been running the air conditioner the evening before and still had the fan set on high. The next morning the car was covered with cinders, and before I knew what I was doing I started the engine whereupon the blower roared to life and I immediately found myself pelted with a mass of cinders through the A/C vents!
