I had to cancel my trip to chase 844, and thus I just cancelled our room in Sharon Springs. Therefore anyone looking for a place to stay while chasing 844 should contact the HEYL TRAVELER MOTEL. Here is the
phone number 785-852-4293. Rooms are going to at a real premium if there is any sort of crowd chasing. Sorry I can't make it, but maybe someone else can get use of the motel room instead.

PS Hope someone posts a couple of departure shots from early morning of the eastbound days into the morning sun...should be good if the weather is cool for steam effects. Good luck!

Greeley sub action Thurs, I will try and have Live video streaming



Operation lifesaver will be operating in addition to 844 coming down from Chian. I am guessing a 10- 10:30 am dep from Greeley with a trip to Platteville, and 1pm dep from Brighton for a run up north. (round trips) I will have a laptop with a cam I hope up (844 is the primary objective Thurs). You can get some viewing in if you like. Cam is accessible through yahoo messenger, which is an easy download, then click on my laptop id which is "up_big_steamer" hopefully the default will be properly set so you can view, this subject to power surges and other technical issues, so be patient I will have the cam on as much as I can. OLS equipment I believe will be ski train equip, but it would be neat if 844 pulls it southbound, but that's a pipe dream. Fans can probably get free rides, unless school groups are chartered.

Could anyone tell me when this is going to take place? I havent been able to keep up with much railroad stuff lately.
